Horry County home evacuated due to carbon monoxide from charging golf cart

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A home was safely evacuated in Horry County Wednesday morning, after a carbon monoxide threat from a charging golf cart, according to Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR).

The golf cart was charging in the garage, and the residence was evacuated before HCFR's arrival, according to the department.

"We can't stress enough the importance of charging golf carts and similar recreational vehicles in a well-ventilated area, as the results could be much worse than an evacuation," an HCFR social media post stated.
