When respectable labels offer a tasty wine in a 375 ml bottle, more is less — literally.

The benefit of snapping up these 375 ml bottlings is scoring quality wine if you’re on a budget. It also allows you to sample a broader range of wine, as well as make peace with your dinner companion who may want a red wine when you want a white one.

What follows are 10 wines from reputable brands in 375 ml bottles, most of them vetted in The Press Democrat blind tastings. They won’t disappoint.

One caveat. You won’t always be able to find these wines on a winery’s website but there appears to be an ample supply with online wine retailers.

Ferrari Carano, Sonoma County Fume Blanc, $8. Sassy lemon grass and lime zest are coupled with pineapple and mango Smart.

J. Lohr Riverstone, Chardonnay, $9. This dry, zesty chardonnay has notes of grapefruit, white peach and mineral. Pretty.

Kendall Jackson’s Vintner Reserve, Chardonnay, $9. A layered chardonnay with notes of apple, pear and mango. Hints of almond and vanilla in the mix. Tasty.

Simi, California Chardonnay, $9. Citrus and stone fruit tango in this tasty chardonnay. It’s lightly oaked, with a citrusy finish.

Angeline California Pinot Noir, $9. Delicious red fruit — strawberry, raspberry and cherry — is coupled with a note of cola. Well crafted.

Josh Cellars California Cabernet Sauvignon $10. Generous fruit with layered notes of toast, hazelnut and a kiss of vanilla.

Josh Cellars Pinot Noir, $9. A commingling of flavors — strawberry, thyme and sage. Lovely.

Line 39 California Pinot Noir, $8. Red fruit — cranberry and cherry — are coupled with savory notes. Approachable, with a seamless texture.

Kim Crawford, Sauvignon Blanc, $9. Tropical meets citrus, with a hint of jalapeno in this zesty Sauvignon Blanc. With pitch perfect balance, it’s impressive.

Chateau St. Michelle, Columbia Valley, Washington Cabernet Sauvignon, $9. Approachable with concentrated fruit. Good bones — structure. Round and supple.
