The 33rd annual Johnson County Antique Machinery Show is this weekend – it’s a show dedicated to the restoration and preservation of farm equipment. Enthusiasts show off antique tractors, trucks, cars, and more to celebrate the rich history of farming.
“We do this every year in the third week in June,” said Dwayne Hansford, president of the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association. “We started out pretty small and we keep growing a little bit every year. So, it's just like a family reunion every year for us.”
There are events and activities for all ages scheduled throughout the weekend – such as tractor pulls every night, machinery parades, kids games, a flea market, and entertainment.
Hansford said one goal of the event is to pass an appreciation for farming heritage to the next generation.
“This hobby needs the younger generation to keep going,” Hansford said.
The show runs through Sunday at the Johnson County Recreation Park near Camp Atterbury in Ninevah. Daily admission is $3. Weekend admission is $5.
