We're proud to be able to donate a sound-proof recording booth to the students at Marvin E. Robinson School of Business and Management, a member of our Prosperity Hub School District program in Dallas, Texas.
What was the most impactful thing you learned in high school? Bluetooth 5.0 Receiver Module
For students at the Marvin E. Robinson School of Business and Management (SBM), that answer changes weekly. With a curriculum designed around business education, this Dallas, Texas high school is on a mission to create the next wave of executives and entrepreneurs.
As a participant in our Prosperity Hub School District program with a thriving media department, we were honored to donate a soundproof recording booth to the students and faculty at SBM.
The customized WhisperRoom sound booth will be used to support KSBM Radio, a student-led podcast and social media program. KSBM Radio includes 11th and 12th-grade students who are interested in exploring careers in advertising and social media marketing.
The KSBM Radio program director, Rochelle Shipman, shared that the recording booth will be a game-changer for the students and program, elevating the audio and speed at which they can produce content. The booth has already been transported from its initial home at SXSW in Austin, Texas and reassembled by the students of KSBM radio station.
We’ve seen firsthand the role education can play in preparing students to enter the workforce and manage their financial futures. To help underserved communities, we need to help spark economic opportunity through jobs, community investment, and in this case, a soundproof recording booth.
We’re happy to step into this unique opportunity to make a difference in the communities that need it most. Our Prosperity Hubs Program aims to power prosperity by driving a bigger collective impact in 21 school districts across nine countries with a combined enrollment of more than 1.6 million students.
Each district is selected based on two key criteria: economic need and diversity of the student body. Nearly 80% of students in these districts identify as being underrepresented minorities.
Schools across the nation are struggling to provide financial literacy and durable skills in their classrooms. For schools serving underrepresented or low-income students, the challenge is even greater.
