Gemma Butler shared snaps of the new room in the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group which showed just how chuffed the little ones are as they watched cartoons in their new cool space.

Detailing the project, she wrote: "Under the stairs junk cupboard.. Now a little cinema for the little ones. Really good for my boy with autism who likes his personal space after a day at school."

To tackle the project, Gemma picked up Plywood from Wickes for £6.50 and used four packs of micro fairy lights from Dunelm for £3.50each.

She also explained that she had some silver feature wall paint which she used to give it a fresh new look, which was originally £10 from Wilko.

Gemma continued: "Literally cut plywood to size, painted it silver, drilled 200 holes, popped the lights through and screwed it to the ceiling.

"Drilled the whole through bottom of stairs to put an extension cable through. TV up on the wall and done, just need to get some bean bags."

Gemma revealed that the kids love their new chill out space and it's not hard to see why.
