The new SGMT 2500 is set to arrive at Zanardi Fonderie S.p.A. this summer.
Zanardi Fonderie S.p.A. said it invested in the state-of-the-art sand preparation technology to increase the sustainability of its production process. The integration of the advanced sand preparation technology will also allow the foundry to boost its casting quality and optimize its processes.
The Savelli SGMT 2500 sand mixer enables maximum efficiency in sand mixing and homogenization. The machine is designed to guarantee consistently high molding sand quality, enabling more precise castings while reducing scrap rates.
The SGMT 2500’s key technical features include:
Two high-performance turbines with multiple agitators and interchangeable knives
Three rotating plowshares for uniform sand distribution
A powerful flender gearbox and three Siemens motors
Ceramic lining of the mixing basin for enhanced wear protection
Four nozzles for precise water injection
An inspection window for easy monitoring
A pneumatic discharge door for efficient material handling
Separate openings for additive injection and sand testing
With these features, the SGMT 2500 facilitates high process stability, supports sustainable production and improves casting reproducibility.
Zanardi Fonderie S.p.A., which is known for its high-quality cast iron solutions said the continuous investments in cutting-edge manufacturing tech foster the optimal utilization of its production capacity at 18,500 tons per year. This includes around 10,000 tons of Austempered Ductile Iron (ADI). The firm’s foundry produces castings weigh between 1 and 120 kg for various high-tech applications.
