Nuvoton's NuMicro M091 Arm Cortex-M0 microcontroller targets industrial sensors - CNX Software

Nuvoton recently launched the NuMicro M091 Series of microcontrollers, these are 32-bit MCUs based on the Arm Cortex-M0 core, featuring 4 sets of operational amplifiers with 8 MHz gain bandwidth (GBW), 4 sets of 12-bit DAC, up to 16 channels of 2 MSPS 12-bit SAR ADC, a temperature sensor, and extensive I/O options.

The MCU supports the NuMaker evaluation board and various third-party IDEs making this an ideal device for industrial sensing, smart sensors, and precision instrumentation applications. Previously we have seen Nuvoton release MA35H0 and MA35D1 both MPUs are based on Cortex-A35 cores, feel free to check those out if you are interested in the topic.

Nuvoton NuMicro M091 MCU specifications:

Nuvoton’s M091 Series features four MCUs – M091TC2AE, M091TD2AE, M091YC2AE, and M091YD2AE. The ‘TC’ and ‘YC’ models have 32KB Flash memory, 22 I/O pins, and smaller QFN33 packaging, whereas the ‘YC’ and ‘YD’ models feature 64KB Flash memory, 29 I/O pins, and larger QFN48 packaging.

Nuvoton also designed the NuMaker-M091YD evaluation board for the Nuvoton NuMicro M091 series, featuring an M091YD2AE-based target board with extension connectors, Arduino UNO headers, an ammeter, and a CAN interface with an AEC-Q100 qualified transceiver. Additionally, It has the Nu-Link2-Me for on-chip debugging and ICP programming via SWD, the company clarifies that the programmer can be detached for standalone use in a mass-production environment.

The ICs sell for $2.00 to $2.75 each and can be purchased from Nuvoton’s online store, with discounts on bulk orders. You can also buy them from other stores; Nuvoton lists these stores by region. The NuMaker-M091YD Dev board is also available on the company’s website priced at $35.00.
