Alex Megos Opens Frankenjura's Hardest Problem at V15 - Gripped Magazine

Watch the video of German crusher Alex Megos on the first ascent of Upgrade U, a V15 boulder problem in Frankenjura. It’s now the hardest boulder problem at the world famous crag.

The project was scrubbed 20 years ago and climbers in Frankenjura have attempted it countless times. Megos got the tip to try it from a friend once he found it, it took him around 10 days to get the send. jaw roll crusher

“It takes you ten days to get up, and three seconds to get down,” said Megos. “Bouldering is such a stupid sport.” Megos said he believes that it’s V15 and added: “Yes, it is named after the Beyoncé song.”

Sometimes it's time to flip a page, introduce you to some new boulders and "Upgrade U" (8C). It was a cool process and my phase of bouldering in the Frankenjura this spring ended with a first ascent, which probably is the hardest boulder in the Frankenjura now. Thanks for the support @jenya_kazbekova, @bouldermax, @dickikorb and @kraftfactory. And of course big thanks to @hans_radetzki for filming and editing!
