Day one of the 2022 SEMA Show is in the books and attendees traveled far and wide to experience the window film and paint protection film industries’ products live and in person.
“I came out for the Auto Film Mastery event hosted by Mike Norng, Ray Padilla and Aladdin Algaali,” says David Sarao, owner of Ultimate Window Tinting in Orlando, Fla. “It only made sense to stay for SEMA. It’s always great to catch up with our industry colleagues and the cars are definitely an added bonus. This is my third time attending the SEMA event, but my first time back since COVID.” window tint computer cutter
Like Sarao, industry trainer Marco Cazorla attends SEMA to expand upon previously-built connections.
“SEMA allows you to connect with all your friends from around the world and solidify your friendships,” says Cazorla. “This is my second SEMA show, and I am excited to give all my friends a big hug.”
Shore Tint and More is based in Seaford, Del. Founder/CEO Jared Becker and general manager Cody Becker traveled to Las Vegas for growth.
“We come to help keep ourselves up to date on the newest trends and products so we know we are keeping ourselves relevant and offering our customers what they want,” Jared Becker says. “We are also taking a few classes on social media and web site improvements to help keep us up to date on the digital side as well.”
Dave’s Glass and Tint in Pocatello, Idaho, is 50% automotive and 50% flat glass (commercial/residential). Commercial film jobs often include substantial tickets, but auto glass projects still bring in 75% of the company’s sales. Founder Dave Cotter is experiencing both the window film and auto glass angle of the event.
“We primarily decided to attend SEMA for education purposes,” Cotter says. “We are wanting to become more familiar with the technical and legal aspects of ADAS and recalibration systems. We also want to discover the newest auto glass, window film and paint protection products becoming available.”
Dozens of industry suppliers are on a mission to deliver new products and services to dealers based throughout the country and the world. Advanced film pattern software with a technological backbone is crucial in 2022. Solar Gard Saint-Gobain’s showcase includes its ComputerCut Pro software, which more than 1,300 window film users count on for installations.
Michael Malatesta, territory sales manager at Solar Gard Saint-Gobain said that “the traction at our booth has been substantial, especially [from] overseas.”

The company’s partners used its products to demonstrate a wrap installation on a Hyundai Veloster.
“It has an Egyptian theme using Orafol as the base vinyl,” says Mutoh marketing manager Michael Litardo. “We have a nice sparkle laminate over it that makes it pop—it’s something different … It feels like the show is back to where it was years ago.”
