Jiangsu Changhai Composite Materials, a Chinese producer of glass-fiber–based composite materials, announced that Changzhou Tianma Group Co., Ltd. (Tianma), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, intends to further expand production capacity, optimize and improve product performance, and improve the company’s industrial chain layout.

(Tianma), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, intends to further expand production capacity, optimize and improve product performance, and improve the company’s industrial chain layout.
Initially designed for a production capacity of 30,000 tons per year, its glass fiber pool kiln wire drawing production line will be upgraded and transformed into a high-end high-performance glass fiber and special fabric production line with an annual output of 80,000 tons. The total investment of the project is 599 million yuan (€ 85 million), and the construction period is 12 months.
Changhai indicates that the main application markets of this high-performance fiberglass products and special fabrics production line are wind energy and new energy automotive sectors.
Changhai has now 4 furnaces, with a glass fiber annual capacity over 280,000 tons. Its main products include chopped strand mat, chopped strands for thermoplastics, fiberglass tissue, woven roving, coated tissue and fiberglass multiaxial fabrics. They are usually used in household appliances, automotive, sanitary ware, sports equipment and other industries.
