Designed by acclaimed architect Gulla Jónsdóttir, the 175-room property features natural textures, sculptural elements, and decor that includes clay pottery, lush greenery, and Earth tones. The opening introduces a transformative hotel experience with an Artists-in-Residency program, showcasing ceramics artists who create and display their work on-site. Guests can enjoy the signature Ceramics by the Pool activation, a 45-minute pinch pot clay class led by a local artist. Additional amenities include a heated pool with plush cabanas, a private dog park, and 10,000 square feet of event space. In 2025, the property will also unveil a full-service wellness spa.
The Sandbourne Santa Monica’s culinary offerings promise an immersive experience at Marelle, the onsite restaurant led by Santa Monica native Chef Raphael Lunetta and creatively directed by Jónsdóttir. The 187-seat venue offers bold, California-inspired cuisine. Guests can also enjoy poolside service at the Pool & Sunset Lounge, cocktails at the Lobby Bar, and in-room dining options.
