WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The National Park Service (MPS) said Thursday that cherry blossom peak bloom likely would fall between March 23 and 26 of this year.

Peak bloom is defined as the time when roughly 70% of the blossoms are open across the National Mall’s 3700 cherry trees.

The trees experience five different stages before peak bloom. People should be able to see green buds on the trees over the course of the next few days.
