Flint man guilty of assault and causing $100K in damages

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) - Following an argument with his girlfriend, Arthur Humphreys pointed a gun at her after he had been drinking in March 2023.

Five months later, when 62-year-old Humphreys was out on bond, he refused to leave his girlfriend’s home. He had been drinking and threw a glass bottle at her car and maliciously destroyed her property by pouring paint all over the inside of her car and home. “The defendant not only perpetrated violence on his victim, but he also bullied her by destroying her valuable property,” said Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton.

A jury found Humphreys guilty of seven felonies including felonious assault and two misdemeanors.

Humphrey’s faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced on July 22, 2024.
