"Visitors often ask how they can use the rocks and minerals they pick up in the search area. With an abundance of jasper, quartz, and agate, there is no shortage of beautiful stones to find here. Wire-wrapped jewelry can be a fun and creative way to use and display rocks and minerals from the Crater."

"This method of jewelry making requires only a few tools, wire, and -- most importantly -- imagination. Almost any type of stone can be used. The types of jewelry you can make with wire wrapping include pendants, rings, and bracelets."

The cost is $30 per person, including a nonrefundable $10 registration fee due by Feb. 3. The remaining $20 is due on the day of the workshop. Space is limited, and a minimum of three participants is required.

Call Crater of Diamonds State Park at 870-285-3113, or email [email protected] by Feb. 3 to register "and learn how to make one-of-a kind jewelry out of simple materials and the beautiful rocks and minerals found at Crater of Diamonds."
