Easter candy is great — delicious even — but once it's gone, it's gone. When it comes time to think of filling Easter baskets and buying Easter gifts for kids, it's good to include some Easter toys that will last even after the sugar high wears off.
And while it seems you can get any gift or game under the sun with an egg, chick or bunny on it, these are the best Easter toys to buy in 2024. Many of them fit the Easter theme to keep up the holiday mood. Kids still love surprise collectibles, and luckily there are a lot of egg-shaped capsules to open with wonderful mystery treats inside. It's a new way to make art projects: Kids can rub foil sheets onto puffy stickers, and the color transfers over like magic! They can then affix the stickers to different included scenes. Kids will be on the edge of their seats waiting for Jumping Jack to pop out of his bunny hill. Players take turns spinning to see how many carrots they have to pull from the mound. One random carrot will make Jack jump, and players compete to catch him to win. Ages 4+

What's that sound? Kids will be amazed as this chick chirps, taps, hatches out of its egg and hops around while singing. There are different chicks to collect, each with a different pattern on its wings, and once they're out of their shells they can be returned and re-hatched. You can also get a version that comes with a hatching house to keep it in. Ages 5+
Good Housekeeping testers said this book had a big "wow" factor, since it folds out until it becomes nearly eight feet long (and double-sided)! Once it's unfolded, kids can follow the path a river takes and learn about the animals, people and communities that depend on the water. Testers also liked how the text was almost interactive, asking readers to do things like spot a bald eagle. Ages 5+

If you're looking for a fun Easter game to play with the relatives during the big Easter bash, try out this inflatable ring toss game, where players are challenged to get the circles into the bunny ears. You get three headbands and 12 rings of different point values, so everyone can get a turn. No age recommendation given
With this one set, LEGO fans can build a cockatoo, a white seal or a white rabbit that's perfect for Easter, plus accessories like a carrot or fish. The set it also advanced enough that the rabbit can move its head, legs, mouth and ears, too. Ages 8+
These egg-shaped digital pets have moved way beyond their humble origins. Now, they can connect to the "tamaverse" where owners can buy accessories and play games. Good Housekeeping testers were amazed that they were able to arrange digital "playdates" with their Tamagotchis. Ages 6+
Kids can play solo in this problem-solving game. Players draw a card, set up pieces based on the card's challenges and then have to navigate the bunny piece over holes and into their homes, teaching important skills like logic and critical thinking. It includes 60 challenges, from easy to expert. Ages 7+
These little eggs don't just open — they hatch! And it take some love and care, too: Kids have to take out the pacifiers, fill the bottles with water and feed them to start to the hatching process. When the characters have hatched, they can both sit in the double high chair for some imaginative play. Ages 3+
This isn't just like any other stacking toy: The spheres, which look like cracked eggs, are weighted, so kids can stack them at seemingly impossible angles. This allows for early STEM exploration as they pile them up and knock them down (which also works their fine motor coordination). Ages 2+

Kids will be sorting, matching, practicing their fine-motor coordination and working on their color recognition, all with this fun toy. When little ones "crack" open each egg, they reveal a colorful chick inside that chirps when they squeeze it. The eggshells also have a specific shape on the bottom, which means it fits into one spot in the carton, turning the whole thing into a shape sorter.
