Mimaki’s first DTF printer exceeds 300 sales units - Textilegence

Mimaki, a leading brand of industrial digital printers, cutting plotters and 3D printers, announced that its first DTF (Direct-to-Film) printer, the TxF150-75, has exceeded 300 units sold in the EMEA region. The high sales figures achieved in the UK, France, Italy, Iberia and the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) demonstrate both the rapid and widespread adoption of the TxF150-75 and the growing popularity of the DTF printing method.

The TxF150-75, announced at Mimaki’s Global Innovation Days event in February 2023, offers a solution to common DTF problems such as poor ink ejection and white ink clogging thanks to its built-in circulation system and degassed ink pack. Alongside other Mimaki Core Technologies such as the Nozzle Control Unit (NCU) and Nozzle Recovery System (NRS), the TxF150-75 fills the gap in the market for a stable, reliable DTF solution by providing an efficient printing process with minimal intervention needs. protective paper for sublimation

Mimaki Europe General Sales Manager Arjen Evertse said it was a significant milestone for the TxF150 to reach over 300 orders. He disclosed: “We have seen the impact DTF is having on the market in recent years and wanted to offer a solution that excelled in usability, reliability, and quality. The Tx150-75 provides all of these benefits, but its popularity is also due to its suitability for those introducing DTF technology to their production capabilities or those who already have an in-house business producing smaller run jobs.”

Evertse reminded that they announced the TxF300-75 model in August last year, which has the same features as the first DTF model but tripled the maximum printing speed, explaining that this system, receiving more than 100 orders so far, has also attracted great interest in the market with its high volume printing capacity.

Evertse evaluated the demand for DTF products in Mimaki portfolio as ‘fantastic’ and continued his words as follows: “We are confident that adoption of these technologies will only accelerate from here, and we look forward to supporting our customers and the market as it transitions to trusted, reliable DTF solutions.”

Direct-to-film printing can make a huge impact on the garment industry due to its versatility to print on a variety of materials and fast lead times compared to other printing processes. Mimaki’s commitment to innovation, collaboration and sustainability contributed to the development and adoption of this new DTF technology.

Both 80 cm wide Mimaki DTF models are 20 cm wider than the industry standard. This extra 80 cm width is paired with the Adkins post-press powder shaker cure system, allowing users to have a complete DTF solution that can print larger garments with less waste and faster production times. Mimaki’s water-based pigment ink series PHT50 is used in these solutions, enabling a more cost-effective process. As of March 2023, these inks, which have received OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT certification, provide advantages to their users by meeting Mimaki’s sustainability commitments, safety and environmental standards.
