Whether driving generators, compressors, pumps, or industrial fans, the 505E control is equipped to manage all aspects of their operation.
One of the standout features of the 505E controller is its unique PID structure, making it highly adaptable for applications necessitating precise control over steam plant parameters. From turbine speed and load to inlet and exhaust pressures, extraction or admission header pressures, and tieline power, the 505E control excels in maintaining optimal operation.
The 505E controller’s specialized PID-to-PID logic ensures stability during regular turbine operation and seamlessly transitions control modes during unexpected plant upsets. This capability minimizes process deviations, contributing to smoother and more efficient overall operation.
Monitoring turbine speed is a critical aspect of turbine control. The 505E controller achieves this through passive or active speed probes, employing high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) actuators to regulate steam valves, thereby controlling the steam turbine’s output.
The controller accurately monitors extraction and/or admission pressure using a 4–20 mA transducer. Employing a PID control loop through a ratio/limiter function, it ensures precise control over extraction and/or admission header pressures. This control not only optimizes turbine performance but also safeguards it from operating outside its designed limits.

The unit’s two-line display simplifies turbine operation, enabling operators to view both actual and setpoint values on the same screen. This feature enhances visibility and ease of operation.
