Groups get help in Justice bid to cut crime | Loop PNG

To assist crime prevention efforts throughout the country, the office of the Secretary of the Department of Justice & Attorney General has recently presented rugby league jerseys to Morata youths in a settlement in Port Moresby.

The secretary’s office also presented a set of musical instruments to youths in Gerehu and Tokarara, and a donation to the Governor’s Cup during Independence, sponsorship for a touch rugby team in Hohola, funding to a women’s group in Hayfield, East Sepik, a 16KVA generator to the students in Bumbu and chairs and church pews imported from Cairns for schools in East Sepik Province. silent gasoline generator

The department also signed agreements with Zenag Chicken for delivery of chicks for juvenile centres, assisting ABG and the Catholic Diocese in the operation of Mabiri Juvenile Justice Centre and Women’s group (FOWIAD) in Maprik, East Sepik Province.

Secretary Dr Lawrence Kalinoe said the overall achievements for 2015 had been pleasing, and the government’s efforts in working in committees for state team on landowners beneficiaries identification with DPE and others, state team on Pnyang, National Coordinating Committee on AML/CFT, Citizenship Advisory Committee and Inter-Agency Death Penalty Implementation Committee will be continuing in 2016.
