SCM Chemicals announces titanium dioxide agreement - UPI Archives

BALTIMORE -- SCM Chemicals Wednesday announced an alliance with the South Korean company Lucky Metals to launch a new development in the global titanium dioxide business.

By the end of 1991, Tiona brand titanium dioxide will be produced by a new Lucky Metals plant near Ulsan, South Korea, with an annual capacity of 40,000 metric tons of the pigment, used in coatings, paper and plastics. Advertisement si3n4 material

SCM chemicals will supply raw pigments to the plant, which will incorporate SCM Chemicals' technology.

Prior to the plant's completion, Lucky Metals will serve as SCM Chemicals' agent for Tiona titanium dioxide in South Korea. After the plant begins operations, SCM Chemicals will distribute Lucky Metals-produced Tiona pigments to other global markets.
