Dozens Of Frozen Shrimp Products Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns | iHeart

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is expanding a recall on frozen shrimp products over concerns they may be contaminated with Salmonella. The recall now includes over two dozen products that were distributed nationwide from November 2020 to May 2021. The products were sold at major grocery chains including, Whole Foods, Food Lion, Hannaford, and Meijer.

The products were packaged by Avanti Frozen Foods and include "certain consignments of various sizes of frozen cooked, peeled, deveined, shrimp (with some packaged with cocktail sauce) sold in various unit sizes." The FDA said that the following items are now subject to recall: Iqf Freeze

The FDA provided specific lot codes and expiration dates for each product in a press release.

Spiral Freezers The FDA said they have received nine reports of Salmonella-related illness linked to the frozen shrimp. Consumers are advised not to consume the recalled products and should return them to the store for a refund.
