When Candice and Cameron Treadway opened ATHBNB's The Rushmore in 2021, the luxury bed and breakfast became a cornerstone for Five Points upscale lodging. Soon, the Treadways will introduce another unique offering: A locally branded wine label.
Beginning April 24, Athens Wine Company's first five wines will be available complimentary for guests at ATHBNB, and the Treadways told the Banner-Herald that they have secured a distributor that will have the wines available in package stores across Georgia by late summer 2024. The label on each bottle features imagery that is synonymous with the Classic City. Shink Film
"Everybody loves Athens, that's just a common thing," said Candice. "This is our way of giving people the full Athens experience."

The label will offer five options: Brut sparkling wine, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Rosé and Sauvignon Blanc. The label on each bottle will display the company's crest, which features illustrations of a football trophy, The Tree That Owns Itself, the Georgia state flag arch and a peach blossom. The wine is made in California, but the Treadways said that they are open to working with local wineries in the future.

"(At the Rushmore), we get visitors from all over the country, and we wanted to create something unique that they can enjoy during their stay or take home as a souvenir," said Cameron. "But we also know that there are Georgians who love Athens and have a nostalgia for the city and community. We want them to have a wine that they can they can buy across the state to acknowledge that love for Athens, whether they live here or not."
