2024 Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo: Ram's Newest Subcompact - MoparInsiders

The 2024 Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo has made its debut in the Mexican market, bringing a new level of luxury, comfort, and convenience to the subcompact pickup truck segment. As the latest addition to the Ram 700 lineup, the Laramie CVT Turbo is designed to meet the needs of both commercial and recreational users, making it one of the most versatile and capable subcompact pickups in the Mexican marketplace.

At the heart of the 2024 Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo is the new 1.0-liter Turbo Flex engine, a three-cylinder powerhouse that produces 118 horsepower and 148 lb.-ft. of torque (equivalent to 201 Nm). This engine is part of Stellantis’ award-winning Global Small Engine (GSE) engine family, known for its efficiency and performance. The Turbo Flex engine is paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), offering smooth and seamless acceleration. For those who prefer a more hands-on driving experience, the AutoStick® Manual Mode allows for manual control of gear shifts, emulating a 7-speed manual transmission. Additionally, steering wheel-mounted paddles add a touch of sportiness to the driving experience. hydraulic pipe press machine

The Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo is built to handle both on-road and off-road conditions with ease. The front suspension features an independent McPherson setup with double-acting telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers, coil springs, and a stabilizer bar. This configuration ensures durability and stability, even when the vehicle is fully loaded. The rear suspension, with its rigid axle and parabolic springs, provides stability and comfort, making it well-suited for carrying heavy loads.

For off-road enthusiasts, the Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo comes equipped with the TC+ Differential Lock system. This electronic traction control system is designed to handle light off-road conditions, helping the vehicle navigate through sand, loose earth, mud, gravel, or ice. The system can be activated at the push of a button and automatically disengages at speeds above 65 km/h (40 mph).

Unfortunately, the Ram 700 is only available in front-wheel-drive (FWD), much like a modern-day version of the 1982 to 1984 Dodge Rampage.

The 2024 Ram 700 is also a highly capable workhorse. The Double Cab (four-door) version can carry up to 650 kg (1,433 lbs) of cargo, while the Regular Cab (two-door) version offers an even greater load capacity of 750 kg (1,653 lbs). The cargo bed has a volume of 1,143 liters (40.3 cubic feet) and can tow up to 400 kg (882 lbs), making it one of the most capable pickups in its class.

The Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo is only available as a Double Cab model.

The Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo is packed with advanced technology to enhance both convenience and safety. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers to stay connected on the go. LED headlights, including LED fog lights, ensure excellent visibility in all conditions.

Safety is a top priority in the Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo, which comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features. These include a reversing camera, tire pressure monitoring, four airbags, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control (TC), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and Hill Start Assist (HSA). Additionally, all versions come with electronic locks, power windows, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

The Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo features a bold and modern exterior design, highlighted by a new Ram grille and redesigned 16-inch aluminum wheels. The truck is a badged engineered version of the Fiat Strada, the best-selling vehicle in Brazil. The cabin offers a blend of luxury and practicality, with new leather seats, automatic digital air conditioning, electro-assisted steering, and multiple storage compartments. The loading area is equipped with a Bedliner cover for added protection.

The 2024 Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo is now available in Mexico with a starting price of $514,900 MXN (or about $29,370 USD). This new model joins the existing lineup, which includes the SLT, Bighorn, and standard Laramie versions. With its combination of luxury, performance, and practicality, the Ram 700 Laramie CVT Turbo sets a new standard in the subcompact pickup segment.

Fiat is going to introduce a new Panda themed small truck similar in size to the Ram 700/Fiat Strada. We will know more about that new model in the coming weeks. I used to think the the Ram 700 was too small for North America, but I've changed my mind. There is a need for a small urban friendly vehicle like this. The CVT transmission is a liability, but a hybrid set with an e-axle would be ideal.

If I lived in a state with CARB rules, I would much rather have a truck this size, rather than the upcoming Ram REV. The smaller pickup would use a smaller battery, which can charge to full much faster using a level 2 outlet than the huge battery electric pickup trucks like the REV. I still think a hybrid powertrain would be a better seller over other power alternatives.

uses the same formula as the original Rampage... FWD small subcompact utility pickup

Just so we don't have to drive them. There is RamCharger on a trailer for sale down the road if someone wants to save it.
