Carbide bur provides increased metal removal rates

Pferd Inc. has introduced Cast Cut carbide burs for work on cast iron. They provide a high stock removal rate with smooth milling action to help reduce vibration and noise. According to the company, the tooth geometry results in removal rates up to 100 percent higher than those achieved by conventional, double-cut burs.

The burs are optimized for coarse stock removal on all types of black, gray, and white cast iron. With a cutting speed of 1,500 to 2,500 SFPM (rotational speed of 12,000 to 20,000 RPM), the burs cut large chips and provide good chip removal. Five standard SCTI shapes are available with a shank diameter of ¼ in. Face Milling Inserts
