Danish component manufacturer Danfoss announced on March 1 at the EuroShop trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany, that it has finalized its acquisition of CO2 compressor manufacturer BOCK GmbH, from NORD Holding GmbH.

The completion of the acquisition “reinforces Danfoss’ position as a preferred provider of greener cooling and heating solutions,” said Danfoss. The announcement is made in parallel with Danfoss releasing “strong 2022 results, which demonstrate the huge growth potential in products and solutions that contribute to meeting global and regional climate goals,” the company said.

Danfoss officials said that the company is now targeting the U.S. as a new market for BOCK’s CO2 compressors, which are in the final stages of UL certification. Danfoss will feature the compressors at the IIAR conference in Long Beach, California, March 13-15. “There is a huge demand now for CO2 in the U.S.,” they said.
Danfoss called the acquisition of BOCK’s semi-hermetic reciprocating CO2 compressors and condensing units “a natural fit” for Danfoss’ existing compressor and component portfolio and will “accelerate decarbonization with climate-friendly and energy-efficient cooling and heating solutions.”
