“We are excited to welcome DKG to the WireMasters family,” Hill said. “This acquisition allows us, in a significant way, to increase our level of service in that region due to the central European location, as well as the opportunity to leverage DKG’s brand and existing relationships.”
According to a press release, WireMasters views the acquisition as an opportunity to enhance its product and stocking options to meet the needs of its European clientele, and is constantly searching for new ways to expand the quality and depth of its services. Since its foundation in 1988, the company has become a leading international distributor of high-performance and high-temperature military specification wire, cable and associated accessories. Its motto has always been, “Quality is not expensive … it is priceless.”
By having a warehouse in Germany, WireMasters services will increase its product options and cut lead times, producing faster results to European customers. The German DKG company is known for its wire, cable, heat shrink tubing, braid, molded parts, protective sleeving and other cabling products. It serves a large variety of industries, including aerospace, defense, aeronautics, space applications, motorsport, rail transit and automotive.
“DKG has held a strong relationship with the WireMasters Team for several years now.” Peter Ullinger, former and present managing director of DANNEWITZ GmbH, said in the release. “As a company, we have been looking for ways to significantly enhance our service levels for our customers. We have known WireMasters for many years, and have gotten to know them at an even deeper level throughout the process of this transaction. David and I have grown to know each other very well, and appreciate the fact we both view our companies and customers as our families.”
WireMasters also announced its new contract with Gulfstream to open a warehouse in Mexicali, Mexico to support the assembly of wire harnesses. Gulfstream was named Small Business Supplier of the Year in 2011 and has been a customer of WireMasters for 15 years, according to a press release.
With the new facility, WireMasters will be able to provide on-site delivery of wire, cable and other harness assembly raw materials. It will also provide local logistics and forecasting support directly from its new Mexican facility.
“This contract is a great win for WireMasters. Our team has been working towards this goal for several years,” Hill said. “I congratulate the WireMasters team that won this contract. I am also grateful to Gulfstream for choosing WireMasters.”
