One of the latest noninvasive body treatments to really take off is Endosphères therapy, an innovative vibrational treatment that promotes lymphatic drainage and is said to help flush out toxins, smooth cellulite and improve blood circulation. Consider it a high-powered rigorous massage that can do ten times more than dry brushing, a body scrub routine or manual lymphatic massage. While it’s gaining in popularity (we tried it and it’s very relaxing and depuffing) there are still many questions surrounding this body-smoothing treatment, so we went to the pros to find out more.

We asked aesthetician Abigail Ryan who serves as a trainer for Artemis, the company that distributes the Endosphères device in the U.S., to describe how it smooths and shapes. She explained that the patented “compressive microvibration” technology uses low-frequency vibrations up and down the body via a roller device that houses 55 silicone spheres. “It’s like a high-tech deep tissue massage that helps your body to remove toxins and water retention, tone muscle, soothe inflammation, improve circulation and stimulate collagen and elastin production,” she says. Ryan adds that the treatment has become more popular during this wave of whole-body wellness. “It really works with your natural systems to bring your body back into balance.”
Peterson offers full body and lower body options and recommends 10 sessions spaced one week apart. Ryan shares that depending on the client’s needs 12, 18 and 24 sessions may also be appropriate. “There are a variety of different factors that go into how many treatments you’ll need to see results like your individual grade of cellulite, end goals and current lifestyle. Clients can come in as frequently as two to three times a week as long as there is a 48-hour waiting period in between appointments.”

“The number-one thing you can do is increase your water intake,” says Ryan. “This should be about half of your body weight in ounces.” Increasing daily activity will also help the lymphatic system to work better. “The body does not have its own pumping system and therefore requires movement to move toxins and debris throughout the body to then be released via sweat, urine and breath.”
