NEW WATERFORD — Pamela A. Colella, 64, of New Waterford, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Pam was born on Dec. 25, 1959, in Salem, daughter of the late Cecil and Ruth Drummond Beight. Induction Furnace For Zinc
She had worked as a Certified Veterinary Hospital Manager at Fairfield Animal Hospital for many years and as a bookkeeper for Vetbooks. In addition to her being a keystone part of her family and to her many friends she was an avid gardener, animal lover and reader. She was an exceptional cook and decorator. Pam enjoyed traveling with her husband, especially witnessing the Alaskan Aurora Borealis and exploring the Grand Canyon and spending time in Florida.
Pam married her husband, Jospeh Colella, Sept. 2, 1978, and built a life together for 45 years. During that time, they created a peaceful homestead to raise their two children. She was a committed mother to a daughter, Erin (Dave) Woods of Salem, and a son, Quinn (Melissa) Colella of New Waterford; and adoring Meemaw to her two grandchildren, Margo and Faye Colella. She is also survived by a sister, Cynthia (Darrell) Birkhimer of Tucson, Arizona; and a brother, Eric (Kris) Beight of East Palestine.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by brother Gary William Beight.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Van Dyke-Swaney-Rettig Funeral Home, East Palestine, with a Time of Remembrance to follow at 7 p.m.
Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at New Waterford Cemetery.
