The first offering involves prepackaged kits containing the right number of parts for the commercial construction of buildings with highly repeatable room types, including apartments, hotels, dormitories, assisted-living centres and hospitals. The customized, co-ordinated packages include ProPex fittings, rings, transitions, valves, stub-outs, supports and other components, with each kit labelled by room. They also include a materials list, plan view and three-dimensional (3-D) isometric drawing for installation.

Daniel Worm, Uponor’s North American portfolio application manager, estimates the kits can save up to two hours’ installation time per unit for the construction of a 200-unit high-rise residential building.

The second offering comprises professional-grade fittings manufactured from engineering polymer, to be specified instead of brass push-to-connect fittings for residential projects. They are designed for use with PEX, PE-RT, CPVC and copper piping systems for potable hot water and cold water distribution in single-family homes, apartment buildings and condominiums.
