“ Walsall has a proud industrial heritage and is home to lots of great manufacturing businesses like Adams Enclosures. It’s great to see the business going from strength to strength and I’m thrilled that the Council has been able to support them to invest in a new Brake Press to continue that growth. “

Adams Enclosures has been in business for 17 years, based in Walsall Wood. They have around 60 employees and occupy a 24,000 sq ft fabrication facility on Maybrook Road.

Walsall Council’s business growth team helped Adams Enclosures to secure a £30,000 grant through the AIM for GOLD scheme in 2020, which was used towards the purchase and installation of a new brake press machine.

“ The manufacturing industry has always been challenging, we are constantly aware of the need to introduce technologies that significantly improve production processes, techniques, capability, capacity and output. Continuous improvement is vitally important to sustain business growth however it is not always possible to achieve without assistance. “

“In 2019 we recognised that we needed to invest in new machinery.  Our growth project included the purchase of an up to date innovative Brake Press that would produce consistent, high quality work to improve efficiency and productivity. The machine delivers higher precision therefore reducing the frequency of errors. Ultimately reducing the time the finished product takes to get to market.

“From the first day we contacted the Business Growth team at Walsall Council we have had his full support. Within a few days we had a personal visit, we outlined our project and he explained the process for accessing support through the new AIM for GOLD business support programme. He guided us through the process step by step and was always on hand to assist with any queries we had. He and his colleagues at the business support team kept us regularly updated with the progress of our application , providing professional, efficient but friendly support.

“The funding we were awarded supported the company's growth programme and created jobs in the local area.”
