At about 11 p.m. Wednesday, Palm Bay police responded to Holmes Regional Medical Center in reference to a battered victim.

The woman told police that she and her boyfriend went to Johnson's home about 8:30 p.m. the previous day. When they arrived, she said, Johnson met them outside with a rifle and forced them into the house at gunpoint, reports state.

Inside, Johnson repeatedly struck the couple with the butt of the rifle, stating the female victim owed him money, according to reports. She told police Johnson stopped her as she tried to flee through a window and then struck her in the knees with a hammer.

Johnson's girlfriend arrived and heated a pot of hot grease, which she threw in the woman's face, before stabbing her in the leg with a knife, reports state.

The male victim also told police Johnson placed the barrel of the gun into his mouth while threatening to shoot him, according to a report.

Johnson kept the couple inside the home against their will overnight and into the following evening, police said. He was arrested Thursday in the parking lot of the Palm Bay Walmart.

Johnson was on probation after pleading guilty in May to the 2016 battery of a former girlfriend.
