Applechem has announced that SorbiThix L-100 (INCI: Sorbeth-230 Tetraoleate (and) Decyl Glucoside (and) Sorbitan Laurate) has received approval for China’s cosmetic ingredient registration.

The polymer enhances thickening across all traditional surfactant systems and integrates with modern surfactants like glutamate and isethionate. It also allows formulators to increase fragrance usage in shampoos by up to 3%.
CSAR chemical regulations were revamped in 2021, not only transforming the registration process for existing ingredients but also providing a pathway for introducing new ones. Applechem's regulatory team spent two years of navigating China’s new submission requirements, per the company.
