There's nothing more liberating than packing light enough to skip bag check and baggage claim while traveling. However, this requires some organizational skills and finding the right luggage. I recently invested in a set of packing cubes that can help even the most chronic over-packer stay tidy, along with a personal item-sized carry-on bag that can easily slide under a plane seat. I've been looking for a carry-on roller suitcase to round out my luggage glow up and fell in love with Béis's The 21-Inch Carry-On Roller ($218).
This compact carry-on has just the right amount of compartments to help me stay organized — even if I skip the packing cubes. I can cram a surprising amount, thanks to the expansion gusset that gives me an extra two inches. For me, that means being able to pack a few slightly bulkier creature comforts, like my Revlon One-Step Volumizer Plus so that I don't have to rely on a hotel blow dryer. The two interior zip pockets are another favorite feature because I can use the plastic one for holding extra travel toiletries, flip flops, or even a damp bathing suit if I don't have time to let it dry before my return flight. All of the interior compartments make it possible for me to travel with fewer zippered pouches, which ultimately saves space. conveyor roller idler
What's more, the new glossy exterior looks really chic, especially with the contrasting beige handle. The 360-degree swivel wheels glide beautifully — even my 5-year-old can pull it without getting tripped up — and the cushioned silicone grip handle feels so good in your hand! I also love that it has a TSA-approved combination lock so I can feel better about packing valuables.
Since it has a glossy finish, scratches from TSA scanning and overhead bin compartments is unfortunately part of the deal. I've had luck getting scuffs out of matte hardshell suitcases with a Magic Eraser, but scratches are another beast. That said, the glossy finish really is stunning and I plan on embracing the patina of my suitcase as a sign of it being well-loved and well-traveled.
This suitcase is ideal for recently converted over-packers who still want to fit a good amount of items without having to check a bag. Aside from the expansion gusset, it also has compression straps to help flatten everything so you can close it smoothly. If you want your suitcase to have a built-in organizational system with several zippered compartments, you'll appreciate the thoughtful design. This suitcase also scores points for being an aesthetic piece of luggage with stylish branding. Even the smallest details, like the "dirt bag" drawstring pouch for dirty clothes and the "not béisic" drawstring bag for other small necessities, are worth mentioning.
