The annual street improvement project allocates funding each year to rehabilitate the City's residential and main arterial streets. City staff evaluates existing road conditions and implements roadway improvements pursuant to the 2021 Pavement Management System Report Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and field investigations.
The annual project is finalized each spring, and the work is generally completed during the summer months, due to technical and traffic impact reasons. The warmer months pose ideal conditions for the job and a lighter impact on the traveling public when schools are not in session. Plastic To Copper Pipe Fittings
The work comprises but is not limited to: mobilization; traffic control; 2-inch full-width grind and 2-inch AC overlay; selective 2-inch grind and 2-inch AC overlay; 5-foot wide tapered grind (0.00 - .12’-depth); 1.5 inch full width AC overlay; adjustment of utility manhole covers and water valve can covers as necessary; application of Type I conventional slurry; apply crack seal; sawcut and remove 8-inch thick stamped concrete crosswalk and replace with 4-inches of approved CAB and 4-inch AC overlay; remove and replace stamped AC crosswalk; remove and install traffic control loops and restoration of striping, pavement markings/ markers, and legends, in the various residential streets in Chino Hills.

Slurry sealing is a preventative maintenance process that is designed to prolong the life of the asphalt surface and avoid the development of potholes.
The project plans and specifications were approved by Council on February 27, 2024. The bid opening was held on March 28, 2024 and awarded to Vance Corporation. Construction is set to begin June 10, 2024 and is anticipated to be completed by the end of August 2024.
