“At a time of great uncertainty and reconfiguration of the global textile system, MarediModa stands as a reference in terms of excellence, creativity and innovation. Twenty-two years after the first edition, everything has changed around us, except our idea of working as a system,” said Claudio Tajana, president, MarediModa.
“Those who come here have always known that they will be able to touch the best European textile collections, not only from the sectors we represent but also from complementary ones. Technology, innovation, real sustainability and strong expertise make our collections the most inspired in the world, a source of ideas and inspiration for the creation of unique masterpieces,” he added.
Not to be missed for this edition is a visit to “Waterworld”, a space curated by trend forecaster David Shah, with the spotlight on the novelties for s/s 2026. Shah presents the trends himself on 5 and 6 November at 11AM.
Another appointment to mark on the agenda is the one scheduled at 3.30 p.m. on 5 November with expert Janne Baetsen: the leitmotif is a reflection on the change that is shaping the entire fashion system (and not only) and how to deal with it.
On 6 November at 6PM, The Link will take place. This fashion show features beachwear, underwear and athleisure creations by young talents from European fashion design schools.
On the catwalk for beachwear will be Matilde Balduzzi (Next Fashion School by Carla Secoli), Sebastian Crucianu (University of Art and Design Cluji Napoca) and Moises Rivero Galvan (School of Art and Design Gran Canaria); for underwear, Beghim Genghiz (University of Art and Design Cluji Napoca), Marianna Luca (Next Fashion School by Carla Secoli) and Lucia Trabazos (Falmouth University); finally, athleisure, with Alessia Marenghi (Politecnico di Milano), Aurora Scorrano (Isgmd) and Nicolai Vulpe (University of Art and Design Cluji Napoca).
The show will also host the third edition of the Flash project, which narrates fabrics through prototypes, accompanied by photos and videos, and the Seam spin-off, an exhibition area dedicated to the savoir-faire of contract garment makers.
In the Ath Project area, on the other hand, one can find the innovative materials of nine companies, transformed into athleisure garments and made by ISGMD, MarediModa's fashion academy partner.
Speaking of partnerships, the link between the kermesse and The Lycra Company is confirmed. The Lycra Company has chosen Cannes to present the bio-derived fiber Lycra EcoMade, composed of 70% renewable raw materials, starting with maize. Alistair Williamson, Vice President EMEA & South Asia Apparel of The Lycra Company, will be speaking about it at 3pm on 5 November in the conference area. An immersive virtual reality experience is dedicated to the new fibre in an ad-hoc area in the Lycra Brand Lounge. Using VR viewers, visitors can virtually explore how Iowa corn is processed into Lycra EcoMade
On 6 November at 11AM, Heidi van den Hul from Marketing Europe of Sensil/Nilit will illustrate the characteristics of Sensil, a fibre suitable for luxury beachwear as well as high-performance activewear and ultra-soft underwear.
Finally, a new edition of MarediModa's Creative Excellence Awards: on the podium Melissa Odabash, a brand from the UK, and Aguaclara, based in Peru.
